Social value policy - 6point6

Our social value policy

Purpose and scope

6point6 is a socially responsible business, helping our clients use the power of technology to improve how we live and work. Our purpose is to make brilliant ideas happen and we do that for our people, our clients, our communities and our planet.

This policy aligns to the Social Value Act 2012 and outlines our commitment towards delivering, measuring and managing the social value 6point6 is creating. It covers all 6point6 employees, associates, interns and third parties who undertake activities on our behalf. It applies to all our operations, the services we provide to our clients and the goods and services we procure.

Responsibilities

All employees, associates, interns and third parties are responsible for ensuring this Policy is adhered to in line with our values:

  • Human: We celebrate our differences and bring our authentic selves to work. We are one, inclusive, team.
  • Dedicated: We are dedicated to each other, our clients and to our profession. We care.
  • Honest: We embrace transparency, act with integrity and encourage everyone to speak openly.
  • Brave: We empower each other to make bold decisions, to take ownership and to challenge with respect.

We will be accountable to our stakeholders for the social value we create and will seek to develop organisational best practice around how our social value creation delivers outcomes to our stakeholders.

To deliver on our social value commitments, we recognise the need to communicate these to our internal and external stakeholders including potential and existing employees, customers, suppliers and wider stakeholders. This is achieved through our HR, procurement and recruitment processes delivered via a range of communications channels including our website, intranet, employee groups, newsletters, town hall meetings, team briefings, staff induction processes, social channels and stakeholder engagement activities.

Commitments

Our social value policy is underpinned by four key commitments.

We will support economic growth by

  • Creating jobs and skills in the technology sector
  • Building a resilient supply chain.

We will tackle inequality by

  • Improving gender diversity
  • Raising awareness of wider diversity, equity and inclusion issues and benchmarking our diversity beyond gender

We will invest in well-being by

  • Providing employee benefits and ways of working that support the physical and mental well-being of our people
  • Ongoing awareness raising and education activities

We will fight climate change by

  • Reducing our own carbon footprint
  • Helping others to reduce theirs

Governance and monitoring

This policy is supported by our business strategy which makes creating social value a board-level commitment with a board-level champion and will be reviewed annually. All our commitments have detailed metrics which we will monitor and report to stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
