6point6’s Czarina Barnsby has been named a TechWomen100 for her work to nurture and inspire tech talent. An AWS Community Builder, Czarina harnesses her AWS networks to develop communities designed to support, motivate, and develop women and allies in tech.
The prestigious TechWomen100 Awards showcase remarkable women in the technology sector, shining a light on the female tech talent pipeline and supporting the next generation of female tech role models and leaders. As winner in the Individual Award category, Czarina has been recognised as one of 100 Women in Tech who are leading the way for future generations of tech talent.
As Head of Technical Architecture at 6point6, Czarina leads the Technical Architecture Academy, established to support Technical Architects as they develop in their architecture careers at 6point6. Through this Academy, Czarina has built a community of Junior Architects, training and developing them into Solution Architects with all the tools necessary to grow their careers and drive organisational change.
Czarina is also involved in 6point6’s Women in Tech Mentoring Scheme, which she launched jointly with 6point6 Cyber Assurance Manager Phoebe Swindon. The Scheme connects industry technology leaders with 6point6 women to create a network of support and mentorship.
As an AWS Community Builder, Czarina has channelled her passion for Cloud and AWS technologies into building supportive communities. She became a mentor for two AWS Academy training providers, co-founding and launching two new networks dedicated to championing diversity and tackling the gender gap in IT: Women and Allies in Tech, and AWSome Women and Allies in Tech. The former spans the entire e-careers AWS Academy training programme, and has connected more than 90 women to date across 16+ isolated cohorts.
Czarina Barnsby, Head of Technical Architecture, said,
“It is an honour to be named one of this year’s TechWomen100 winners alongside inspirational women across all areas of the tech industry. I know from experience that role models can change the entire trajectory of someone’s career. The recognition I’ve received from WeAreTechWomen is also recognition for everyone involved in 6point6’s Women in Tech Mentoring Scheme and Technical Architecture Academy. I’m looking forward to continuing our work and showing the next generation of tech talent that they can dream of being anything.”
