Data and analytics are crucial driving forces leading innovation, however it is even more imperative to that they are used correctly during this challenging business environment.

Most algorithms that businesses typically use for strategic decisions and other operational forecasts will be invalidated by a predictable event, in this case COVID-19. The much praised AI tools are trained using the data data patterns, which makes it difficult for the algorithms to forecast the effects of a unpredictable event. To keep agile procedures in place and pivot to the current and future crises, companies must change their data practices to consume external data set.
