Engagement Lead

As part of the clients and delivery practice, we are focussed on the end-to-end lifecycle of outcome-driven solution delivery to our clients ensuring exceptional quality and client satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will have a strong client facing background in a consultancy capacity, regularly aligned to senior level stakeholders. They will be able to lead multiple concurrent engagements with a client that cover a wide range of areas (not limited to but including digital transformation, cyber security and emerging technologies) while developing deep stakeholder relationships and identifying opportunities that will directly benefit the client. They will also be willing and able to contribute to 6point6 internal initiatives, thought leadership and sales and marketing activities.
Requirements
- Actively lead one or more client engagements (concurrently as required) in the long term
- Be embedded and deployed on the client site in a billable role, shaping and growing the engagement and developing client relationships
- Lead a team of 20+ consultants on a client site and ensure all deliveries are to a high standard, within budget and demonstrably meet and exceed the client need
- Work in a multi supplier environment, driving consensus to ensure client success whilst representing 6point6
- Establish and develop strong working relationships with senior client stakeholders
- Work closely with key stakeholders to understand their needs and identify opportunities
- Strong stakeholder management and desire to become their trusted advisor by developing long-term working relations
- Develop and document a deep understanding of all aspects of the client organisation
- Define a roadmap of client opportunities that directly aligns to strategy and realises business goals
- Define and negotiate project scope
- Identify project team roles, structure, and resource estimates
- Produce project detailed costing estimates
- Produce high quality solution proposals by actively participating in client RFP/bid process
- Review contracts and statements of work to ensure accuracy and deliverability
- Maximise resource utilisation across all delivery teams
- Provide regular and accurate updates to the sector director
- Support the sector director with realisation of strategic and tactical goals
- Identify internal skills and resourcing gaps and actively inform recruitment planning
- Lead the recruitment of 6point6 consultants
- Line manages, mentor, trains and develops 6point6 staff, including graduates
Essential requirements
- Degree educated within a relevant field
- Strong consultancy background
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Highly motivated
- Extensive experience working on high-performance, scalable, secure and complex web applications
- Extensive experience working in an agile team delivery context
- Extensive knowledge of agile software engineering best practice and industry standards
- Extensive experience of working with public and private cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, OpenStack, VMware vCloud, etc.
- Demonstrable experience and good working knowledge of cyber security
- Driven, confident, ambitious and highly professional
- Outstanding communications skills, both written and verbal
- Working knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and techniques, including TOGAF
- Working knowledge of architectural and technical governance
- Working knowledge of architecture, design patterns, ArchiMate and UML
- Working knowledge of open source and open standards
- Working knowledge of market leading vendor products and solutions
- Working knowledge of common integration techniques and approaches
- Working knowledge of non-functional drivers for design
- Strong technical background - working experience with JEE and Java or .NET and C#, Web Services, REST
- Quality assurance skills to assess quality and completeness of deliverables
- Knowledge of both traditional and agile delivery methods
- Ability to understand and challenge designs
- Working understanding of all key architecture domains
- Ability to manage architects and technical resources
- Must be security clearable:
○ UK/EU passport or Indefinite Leave to Remain or Right of Abode
○ Resident in the UK for the last five years
○ No criminal record
