What does our College Leaver Programme involve?

The 6point6 College Leaver programme is the first step into a professional career with a highly respected fast track technology company. We offer a unique training scheme as a permanent employee that will enable you to expand your skill set and maximise your potential to further your career and greatly enhance your earning potential.

From day one, you will be given the opportunity to become involved with a variety of challenging client engagements and internal projects, whilst working with and learning directly from some of the most talented and experienced professionals in the technology industry.

You are given the necessary time to study for professional qualifications that will set you apart from your industry peers.

We understand that things have changed from the traditional career journey from college to university degree and then career. The technology world has changed and there are many professional opportunities available to you straight out of college.

So we have designed this programme in order to nurture your talent. We want to help you develop your business and technology skills while completing formal training and study, backed up with real world experience.

You will join one of three challenging training programmes and benefit from accelerated training, focusing on different technology areas within our unique business:

What are my learning and development opportunities?

This is where you see the real world of technology consulting in practice.

You will work with one of our teams in Cyber Security, Digital Transformation or Big Data and Analytics, be mentored by leading professionals and day by day learn to do the work required in your chosen field. You will work closely with your team to build on your experience.

Will I gain professional qualifications?

This is where you underpin your experience with knowledge and qualifications.

You will undertake study to gain technical qualifications that will ensure that you have the necessary technical skills, knowledge and understanding to make you stand out from your peers. For this aspect, you will usually complete some study with industry training courses, receive paid study leave where needed and undertake professional exams.

How will I develop my business skills?

This is about making sure you develop the core skills you'll need for a career in business, technology and consulting.

You will gain experience of working in teams, problem-solving, and communication within a multi-cultural and diverse working environment as well as making sure you gain all of the skills necessary to develop your career in the right direction. You will be assigned a mentor to provide you with guidance and the support needed as you are developing these skills. The world of technology has changed, as technologists increasingly need to understand business functions. You will learn how this environment is constantly changing and how your skills will become more important than ever.

What qualifications do I need?

Please note: all grades below need to have been achieved on first sitting.

GCSE

8 Subjects including:

  1. Mathematics
    (Grade B or above)
  2. English Language
    (Grade B or above)
  3. Others
    (Grade B or above)

And

A Levels

3 Subjects including:

  1. One of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
    (Grade A)
  2. English Language
    (Grade B or above)
  3. Others
    (Grade B or above)

Or

Scottish Highers

Scottish Highers = 5 Highers from your 5th year at school.

If you only sat four, we’ll consider your circumstances and may include your best grade from your 6th year.

What else do I need?

You must be:

Legally allowed to work in the United Kingdom and have been a resident for a minimum of 5 years.

Happy to apply for and hold UK HMG Security Clearance.
