Business Data Analyst

Brief Description:

We are currently looking for a Data Business Analyst on a permanent basis to join us on our journey of growth. We are a technology consultancy that brings a wealth of hands-on experience to help businesses to achieve more with digital.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with the Product Manager in building and maintaining a backlog of prioritised requirements/user stories.
  • Elaborate epics and user stories from high level concepts to ‘playable’ units of work for the Developers.
  • Work closely with the Design and Research team, User Researchers and UX Designers.
  • Integrate and enable user research as part of elaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Assist the Delivery Manager / Scrum Master with maintenance of physical and digital Agile boards.
  • Own and continuously improve the user story lifecycle, including Definition of Ready/Done, user story kick-off and sign-off.
  • Work with other Business Analysts, Product Managers, Delivery Managers, Technical Leads and QA and external clients on site.
  • Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to ensure that the team’s plans and objectives are achieved.
  • Mentor and guide Assistant Business Analysts in their work and career.
  • Inspect, cleanse, transform, categorise, manipulate and model data to identify useful information, transformation options and recommendations to inform decision making.
  • Use scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems to extract knowledge and insights from structured and unstructured data.
  • Support strategies and technologies used for the data analysis of business information and produce useful documentation, reports and dashboards where required.
  • Use Analytical tools such as Tableau, QlikSense and Power BI to interpret and communicate meaningful patterns in data.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years business and data analysis experience.
  • Excellent knowledge and application of the Requirements Engineering Process and experience in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience of applying a variety of BA techniques appropriate to the business situation such as Business Process Modelling (using BPMN), Context Diagrams, Use Cases, SWOT analysis, MOST analysis and Business Activity Models to support the investigation and analysis of business situations.
  • A technology background with strong experience delivering responsive web applications.
  • Experience of working with a range of business and technical stakeholders in an Agile context.
  • Experience in communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience working within a culture of continuous delivery and improvement.
  • Experience in a range of prioritisation techniques (RoM, t-shirt sizing, MoSCoW etc).
  • Strong understanding and experience of user centric design experience with non-functional aspects such as security, privacy, accessibility, performance and reliability.
  • Business or Data Analysis certification is highly desirable for this role.
