Technical Architect

As part of the digital practice, we are focussed on creating a modern architecture and software development practice that can deliver cloud, digital and agile transformations to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong software engineering background, will have worked in large teams and will be comfortable in a client-facing role. You will also be willing and able to contribute to the 6point6 internal digital transformation strategy and thought leadership.
A junior solution architect will be partnered up with one of our senior solution architects to help define architectural solutions and oversee their delivery. You will have the opportunity to learn and get involved in designing, researching, describing, and governing the solution design of specific business problems.
Role and responsibilities
- Help to define creative solutions for business problems, holistically addressing functional and non-functional requirements.
- Build consensus for the proposed solution through engagement and communication with stakeholders.
- Effectively address stakeholder expectations and clearly describe solutions using industry standard modelling notations.
- Contribute to the practice development through thought leadership and development of innovative services and offerings.
- Participate in business development activities, bids and development of innovative offerings.
- Build client relationships and establish credibility by demonstrating knowledge of various aspects of architecture.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in IT ideally as a technical consultant, technical business analysis, developer, software engineering or consulting.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure or GCP).
- Experience with programming languages such as, Java, C#, JavaScript, etc..
- Understanding of functional and non-functional requirements.
- Experience or knowledge of microservices or monolith or APIs.
- A working knowledge/keen interest or experience of one or more of the following: cloud computing, open source, DevOps, big data, security, AI or other technologies.
- Knowledge of the SDLC.
- A degree in computer science, other sciences, maths – other degrees welcome with the right experience/knowledge
- Eligible for Security Clearance
